Authors: Mahmoud Ahmed Touny El-Dabaa,; Advisor: -; Participants: Abd-El-Khair, Hassan (2020) - Trichoderma spp. (T. harzianum, T. viride and T. vierns) as well as three rhizobacteria species (Pseudomonas fluorescens, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus pumilus) enhanced the growth parameters in faba bean plants, i.e. shoot length, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight and leaf number in the first experiment when applied without O. crenata infection. In the second experiment, all bio-control could protect plants against O. crenata infection, where it had better juvenile number reduction, than glyphosate after 2 months of application. Both B. subtilis and B. pumilus had the highest reduction to juvenile fresh weight, while their effect was equal to herbicide for juvenile dry weight, re...

Authors: Abdalla, M. M. F.; Advisor: -; Participants: Saleh, Heba A. M. A.; Khater, M. A. (2020) - Obtained results showed that a huge genetic variation has been detected by these ISSR primers; moreover, there were clear relationship/genetic similarity between and within all collected O. crenata parasite plants. However, the results revealed that there were high relationships where similarity matrix ranged from 0.837 (the highest) between R4 and R17 followed by 0.831 for R4/R25 and in the end, the lowest one was R1/R29 similarity matrix 0.655.

Authors: Mohamed, Magda H.; Advisor: -; Participants: Badr, Elham A.; Sadak, Mervat Sh.; Khedr, Howida H. (2020) - The obtained results showed that Nubaria-1 was superior to Nubaria-2 and Giza-843 in all growth and yield criteria in the growing seasons except plant height was superior in Nubaria-2. Foliar treatment of garlic extract had the superiority effect in all characters of growth and yield and its components, and consequently increased significantly all yield criteria of Nubaria-1 cultivar. Data clearly showed that the effect of different treatments caused marked increases in photosynthetic pigments, indole acetic acid, phenolics, carbohydrate constituents, free amino acids and proline contents of Nubaria 1 cultivar which was sprayed by garlic extract at 5% followed by nicotinamide and asco...

Authors: Elshafei, A.A.M.; Advisor: -; Participants: Amer, M.A.E.; Elenany, M.A.M.; Elhameed Helal, A.G.A. (2019) - The field evaluations revealed that the faba bean genotypes showed enough variation for their agronomic thoughtful parameters. ALB was noted as being the genotype that was the tallest (126.25 cm), but the superlative genotypes were L251 and L252 for a high number of seeds per plant (72.25) and the maximum seed yield per plant (56.40 g). The estimations of the genetic diversity between all of the faba bean genotypes were done using eight sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP)-combined primers. The number of different alleles amplified for each polymorphic marker, ranged from 2 to 9, was observed by SRAP genotyping, with polymorphic information contents (PIC) between 0.445and 0....

Authors: Abdel-Baky, Y. R.; Advisor: -; Participants: Abouziena, H. F.; Amin, A.; Rashad El-Sh, M.; Abd El-Sttar, M. (2019) - The results show that all applications of FA increased all vegetative characters (i.e., plant height, number of branches and leaves, and total dry weight/plant, fourth leaf area and leaf area index, specific leaf weight, and crop growth rate), as well as, yield and its components (i.e., number of pods/plant, weight of pods/plant, seed and straw yield/plant, seed and straw yield/feddan, and seed index) of all studied faba bean cultivars, comparing to untreated plants. The results also show the total photosynthetic pigments content in leaves were increased by increasing FA concentration up to 9 gL−1. Treatment FA at 9 gL−1, significantly improved the nutritional value and quality of see...

Authors: Abdel-Rahman, R.S.; Advisor: -; Participants: Abd elkhalek Ismail, I.; Mohamed, T.A.; Hegazy, M.E.F.; Abdelshafeek, K.A. (2019) - The effectiveness of six plant extracts viz Ballota undulata (BU), Teucrium polium (TP), Phlomis aurea (PA) (Lamiaceae), Pulicaria incisa (PI), Seriphidium herba-alba (SHA) (Asteraceae), and Euphorbia saint catherine (ESC) (Euphorbiaceae) against the bean aphid (A. fabae) and on the two predators, Chrysoperla carnea (Steph.) and Coccinella undecimpunctata L., was determined in both laboratory and field. Results showed that BU, TP, and SHA were the most toxic extracts to aphids, followed by PA and PI, while the ESC was the least toxic one. The lethal effects, expressed as percent mortalities, were 74.3, 73.2, 72.7, 65.9, 62.5, and 56.8%, respectively. All mortality rates were significa...

Authors: El-Metwally, I.M.; Advisor: -; Participants: Sadak, M.S. (2019) - Data revealed that number and dry weight of broad-leaved, narrow-leaved, and total weeds were significantly reduced by increasing salinity levels of soil from 1.37 to 4.51 dS m−1. In addition, the highest salinity level 4.51 dS m−1 caused the highest significant decreases in growth, yield, and yield attributes of faba bean. Meanwhile, increasing salinity level from 1.3 to 4.51 dS m−1caused significant increases in total soluble sugar, free amino acids, and proline contents of faba bean plant. Two hand hoeing treatment achieved the highest weed depression expressed in the lowest dry matter of total weeds. Also, two hand hoeing was the most effective weed control treatment in increasing...
