  • Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis (GEOBIA) has been successfully employed to map terrestrial environments. However, 71% of Earth's surface is covered by seawater and standard optical methods suitable for mapping the land surface have limited application in such environments. Application of GEOBIA to marine environments has nevertheless been attempted and can generally be subdivided into three domains: 1. The intertidal zone and shallow subtidal zone have been mapped with optical data and application of GEOBIA in such environments can be seen as a seaward extension of terrestrial approaches. 2. Photographs of the seafloor give very detailed but spatially limited information. GEOBI...

  • The prevalence of An. gambiae complex and An. funestus larvae was 95.86 and 4.15%, respectively. The highest (14.17%) and the least (4.25%) number of larvae were collected in the month of November and May, respectively. Out of the total number of Anopheles mosquito larvae collected during the wet season, 69.77% of the larvae was collected from the clean habitat, while 30.23% was collected from the dirty habitats. During the dry season, the larvae dwell more in dirty aquatic habitat, with 64.74% of the larvae collected from the dirty habitats, while 35.27% was recorded from clean habitats. Statistically, there was no significant difference in the electrical conductivity when comparing ...

  • In this article, it evaluates the diversity of growing weeds in different cultivated crops areas In Palembang and Indralaya, Indonesia. Conyolling of diverse ecological conditions of weed lives in seriously hard. Weeds brought damages to arable crops such as decreased productivity and quality of crops which have a strong development root systems and mostly distributed on the topsoil, thus, it easily competing with crops to the nufrients, light and water. The results of this research were collected 63 weed species belong to 55 generas and 32 families were identified. This study focuses on analysis to one number of key factors such as the density and number of species, habitats, fertili...
