  • Under low disease pressure, significant control, equal to the fungicide treatment, was achieved with the trip combination of three Trichoderma species. However, Trichoderma species employed alone gave insignificant control of garlic white rot under high disease pressure. The triple combination of three Trichoderma species decreasing disease incidence by 65.6 and 15.5% in 2016/2017 season and 74.2 and 18.6% during 2017/2018 season, under low and high inoculum density, respectively. The activities of defense enzymes, i.e., peroxidase, polyphenoloxidase, and chitinase due to application of Trichoderma species, were enhanced in garlic plants either grown under low or high disease pressure...

  • When the corresponding nano-oils were applied against C. chinensis, the accumulations obtained 89.7, 42.8, 70.9, and 48.9% as compared to 0.1% in the control. When the tested oils and their nano were tested against C. maculatus life cycle, the number of eggs laid/female were significantly decreased to 6.4 ± 9.89 eggs/female after nano-rosemary treatments as compared to 299.9 ± 9299 eggs/female in the control. The adult emergence decreased to 1% after nano-rosemary treatments as compared to 100% in the control. The malformations of the insect significantly increased after nano-rosemary and nano-anis to 100% as compared to 0% in the control. The same results obtained when C. chinensis w...

  • The larval accumulative mortality of tested insect species enhanced progressively with the increase of exposition times (7 days). In the case of tested insects, rosemary oil gave the highest accumulative mortality percentages. The persistence effects of tested nano oils on foam and covering gunny bags showed various biological activates by reducing number of eggs, almost suppressing the percentages of progeny emergence (F1) and high percentages of malformation of tested insects. The efficacy of the tested nano oils on the weight loss of wheat grains after 90 days of storage was experimented.

  • Incorporating GP, OP, and the mixture of them in laying hen diets had no significant effect on the average egg weight and consumption/hen/day throughout the three stages of egg collection, but had a significant improvement in the number of eggs/hen, percentage of egg production, egg mass/hen, and feed conversion. Inclusion of GP, OP, or the mixture of them in laying hen diets had no significant effect on the shape index, Haugh unit, albumin, and shell percentages; also, an insignificant increase for shell thickness was observed, but egg weight increases (P < 0.05). Incorporation of GP, OP, and the mixture of them significantly decreased (P < 0.05) total cholesterol concentration. Also...

  • The results of vegetative growth stages indicated increases in quinoa growth due to the treatments with different concentrations of the two mentioned extracts. The results also revealed increases in photosynthetic pigments constituents (chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and carotenoids) of quinoa leaves. The results also indicated increases in yield and oil content as well as different studied metabolic activity.
