Neuraxial anesthesia is widely used for labor analgesia in the USA. Techniques such as epidural and combined spinal–epidural have been used in modern obstetric anesthesia practices for years. The dural puncture epidural (DPE) technique has shown to provide better sacral analgesia for patients in labor compared to epidural anesthesia, and with fewer maternal and fetal side effects compared to combined spinal–epidural technique
