The Qinghai Lake Basin Critical Zone Observatory (QLBCZO) is being established to study alpine hydrology, carbon–water processes, and ecological functions on the northeastern QTP. Previous studies in the QLBCZO mainly focused on ecohydrologic processes and the water budget.
