Validation of near shore wave modeling for Cua Hoi estuary

Abstract

This paper will present an analysis on the near shore wave data characteristics by using anumerical modeling approach. A third generation wave model SWAN is applied for wave simulation in the near shore area of Cua Hoi Estuary, Nghe An province, Vietnam using deepwater wave parameters obtained from the global wave model WAVEWATCH III. A comparison of simulated wave parameters versus visual observations and buoy data is also provided.
